eXfuze GreenZilla Energy Drink – Review
Posted on February 22, 2012 by Jessica •

Energy drinks. Remember when there were no such things? In the last 10 years, the energy drink industry has gotten completely out of control. If you ever look in the coolers at a gas station or grocery store, you will see more brands than you can count, all touting their own special blends of “healthy” energy-boosting ingredients. However, there is nothing healthy about these drinks.

The Dangers of Energy Drinks

Energy drinks pose quite a health risk to those who consume them. The long-term effects of these rinks are unknown, but we do know that the high levels of caffeine found in these drinks pose serious health risks. Too much caffeine affects heart rate, blood pressure, and brain function, as well as inducing seizures, even leading to death. And that’s just the caffeine. What about the other common ingredients like Ginseng, Carnitine, Gingko Biloba, Taurine, Inositol, Guarana Seed, etc.? Most people assume that just because these are natural herbs and vitamins that no harm can come from consuming them. However, these are all ingredients that traditionally serve specific medicinal purposes and should not be consumed together, and certainly not in mass quantity. In addition, many of these energy drinks contain large amounts of sugar, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners, and more, all of which are extremely detrimental to our bodies.

There are more and more studies being conducted in the U.S. on the safety of these drinks, however, for many people (sadly, many are teens and young adults), permanent damage may have already been done to the liver, kidneys, heart, brain, and cells. In Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, there have already been a lot of studies done and they have found adverse reactions to energy drinks to include: “liver damage, kidney failure, respiratory disorders, agitation, confusion, seizures, psychotic conditions, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, rhabdomyolysis, tachycardia, cardiac dysrhythmias, hypertension, myocardial infarction, heart failure, and death.” And these are just the physical side effects. What about the psychological effects of these dangerous drinks? Mood swings, depression, and other mental disorders have been attributed to energy drinks. While there needs to be more studies, I think the evidence is already very clear. These drinks harm those who drink them.

If you’re reading this post, then I probably don’t have to convince you that energy drinks are bad. But, maybe you have a loved one or a friend who is addicted to them and you would love to have an alternative option for them? Well, this post is for you!

Enter GreenZilla

You may remember my recent giveaway of the bottle of superfood supplement from eXfuze? Well, this is another product from that same company and my friend over there, Stephanie, sent me a couple bottles to have my hubby test out. I will state up front that I didn’t sample the GreenZilla. The bottles were gone before I had a chance

I know a lot of people who drink energy drinks regularly. My husband used to be one of them. I hated that he would drink that garbage, knowing all to well the potential damage that he was doing. However, it gave him the boost he felt he needed in the morning, so it was hard to make him stop.

GreenZilla is an all-natural, energy boosting drink that helps increase energy and alertness without chemicals and nasty stimulants. It’s completely safe and won’t damage the body like other energy drinks. All of the ingredients are whole foods based and there is nothing artificial. No jitters and no crash. Some of the ingredients include blue-green algea, D-ribose, and green tea.

If you know someone who is addicted to energy drinks, this might be the perfect substitute for them. My hubby said he felt gently energized when he would drink it. He said he felt more of a subtle clarity and increased energy throughout the morning than with regular energy drinks. He also didn’t notice a “crash” when the supplement wore off. It didn’t give him the “jolt” that he expected from an “energy drink”, but I think that would be hard to do without introducing chemicals and artificial ingredients.

It’s also nice that one tiny (BPA-free) bottle holds enough for three servings. They’re small enough to travel with on the plane, keep in your purse, or at your desk at work.

So, are you intrigued? Want to try one for yourself?
