How Prayer Can Hinder The Healing of God’s People

by Dr George Malkmus of Hallelujah Acres

This week I want to deal with a similar subject; but first let’s take a brief look at how most churches deal with sickness.

How Churches Deal With Sickness

I personally pastored various churches for nearly 20 years up until I was told I had colon cancer at age 42 (36 years-ago). I know how I personally dealt with sickness in the various churches I pastored back then. Guess what? It’s still the way most pastors and churches deal with sickness today.

In my churches, especially on prayer meeting night, after the people had opportunity to share their prayer requests, we would have prayer for those sick individuals. Also, when people would come up to me individually and share that they or a loved one was seriously ill, I would immediately stop and have prayer for that sick one.

However, by asking God to heal that person of their infirmities, in reality, we are turning over to God any responsibility the person has for dealing with the physical problem themselves.

What kind of results are we getting in response to these prayers for healing in our churches?

Be honest, now…

Why Are So Many Not Receiving Healing In Answer To Prayer?
In most churches, requests for healing of physical problems are the dominant prayer request – usually over 90%.

Does everyone for whom we pray get well in response to these prayers?

Don’t get me wrong. I believe that the Bible is the very word of God (see II Timothy 3:16-17). I also believe that the God of the Bible is also a prayer hearing and answering God. “Call unto me and I will answer thee . . .” (Jeremiah 33:3).

During my pastoring years in both large and small congregations, numerous people asked for prayer for the physical needs of themselves, a friend or loved one. Not only would I earnestly beseech God for healing in prayer on their behalf, but I would also share these prayer requests with the congregation for additional prayer.

Sadly, there were numerous times when the congregation and I would pray earnestly for someone’s healing, especially for a seriously ill child or someone with cancer, and yet I ended up conducting that person’s funeral.

How can we explain this?

Is it God’s fault healing did not take place or ……

Could Prayer Sometimes Hinder The Healing Of God’s People?
There is a song we used to sing in our church, and one of the verses goes like this:

If your body suffers pain and your health you can’t regain,
And your soul is almost sinking in despair,
Jesus knows the pain you feel, He can save and He can heal;
Take your burden to the Lord and LEAVE IT THERE.

I believe one of the primary reasons prayers for healing so often do not result in healing is because that is exactly what we do, we “Take our burden to the Lord and LEAVE IT THERE.”

Could our leaving our burden with the Lord present a problem?

Could this hinder healing?

If we want to obtain healing from our numerous infirmities, we need to do more than just ask God to heal us – we must also seek His guidance as to what part He would have us play in that healing.

We have already learned that prayers and faith in so many instances are not sufficient to bring about healing and here’s why…

“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works” shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead.” (James 2:17-20)

Now I believe God is capable of healing our physical problems in answer to a prayer without any help from us.

But obviously, when we see so many of those for whom we prayed not receiving healing (and dying), we need to seek the reason “WHY”.

And that reason my friend, I believe, is that God usually wants us to participate and become active in the bringing about of that healing.

Sadly, our churches do not teach us to go beyond “taking our burdens to the Lord and leaving them there”.

When we desire healing for ourselves or another, our prayer should not just be, “Lord heal me” or “them”, but rather: “Lord, please reveal to me the knowledge I need, that will put me on the path to bring about the healing I am praying for.”

The Bible even tells us how to obtain that knowledge:

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8)

My Personal Experience
Way back in 1976 I was told I had colon cancer. But I had lost all faith in the medical community to heal my cancer because of my mother’s horrible experience going the medical route.

Not to mention, God had not answered my prayers for her healing.

So, I changed my approach.

I asked the Lord to show me where to turn for help in my healing.

In answer to that prayer, the Lord led me to Evangelist Lester Roloff who encouraged me to change my diet to what we call today “The Hallelujah Diet.”

The knowledge Brother Roloff imparted to me not only led to the healing of my cancer, but also led to the founding of Hallelujah Acres. So, essentially, that prayer for direction has resulted in health restoration for millions of Christians around the world, removing all manner of both physical and psychological problems for the past 20 years.

If we desire to stop seeing all those prayer request sheets in our churches loaded with people dealing with cancer and numerous other physical problems…

If we desire to stop seeing them die and attending their funerals…

Then we the church must do more than just pray for a person’s healing.

The church must also inform people that the sick person needs to become an active participant in their own healing by asking: “Lord what must I do to help bring about this healing I am seeking?”

It is so thrilling to receive letters from people who approached their healing this way. These letters testify that, after being prayed for in the church and not receiving healing, the pastor or another member of the church encouraged that person to investigate The Hallelujah Diet.

And when they did, it put them on the path that led them to the healing they were seeking!

How Faith In Modern Medicine Can Hinder The Healing Of God’s People
In our churches, after prayer, what is the very next thing a person is advised to do by the pastor and most everyone else in the church?

Is it not, “you need to get to a doctor”?

By going to a doctor, we are actually saying, “I do not believe God is capable of bringing about the healing and God needs help.”

This act indicates that we do not have faith in God’s ability to heal us, and that we believe the modern medicine is God’s source of help.

But how is modern medicine doing?

Is it bringing about the healing we so desire? Or are we still, in spite of it all, watching people continue to get sicker and eventually dying?

NEXT WEEK I will, Lord willing, and if the creeks don’t rise too high, deal with the subject: “IS THERE A BETTER WAY?” We will take a close look at the results we are obtaining when seek help from modern medicine. Don’t miss this eye-opening message! In fact, you may want to share it (and today’s message) with your pastor, Sunday School teacher, and fellow Christians.

Sodium benzoate is a preservative that promotes cancer and kills healthy cells

Note:
This is one of the many reasons I love eXfuze products! NONE of them contain SODIUM BENZOATE like most of the competitors!

(NaturalNews) Organic consumers and nutritionists may already know, but the rest of the general population does not know about sodium benzoate. It has the ability to deprive the cells of oxygen, break down the immune system and cause cancer.

This killer is flying under consumer radar with its user friendly tag line, "as a preservative." This silent cell choker has found its way into thousands of products, even foods that are labeled as all natural. But don't be fooled. While benzoic acid is found naturally in low levels in many fruits, the sodium benzoate listed on a product's label is synthesized in a lab.

Derived from a reaction of benzoic acid with sodium hydroxide, sodium benzoate is actually the sodium salt of benzoic acid. Sodium benzoate is a known carcinogenic additive which, when eaten or applied to the skin, gets transported to the liver, where it is supposed to be filtered, and expelled in urine, but the damage gets done before that process is completed.

Sodium benzoate chokes out your body's nutrients at the DNA cellular level by depriving mitochondria cells of oxygen, sometimes completely shutting them down. Just as humans need oxygen to breathe, cells need oxygen to function properly and to fight off infection, including cancer.

The FDA says it's safe because the amount used to preserve foods is very low, but don't ever combine it with vitamin C or E, as this causes benzene to be formed. This is dangerous. Benzene is a known carcinogen, which means it causes cancer.

Okay, so this should be easy. Never, ever mix vitamin C with pickles, peppers, salad dressings, jams, most condiments, vinegar, fruit juices, salsa, dips, shredded cheese, ketchup, or diet or regular soda. Don't forget about mouthwash, toothpaste, cough syrup, cream, lotion, and hundreds of cosmetic products.

So now why is it put in food? It's the cheapest mold inhibiter on the market, so it's all about the money. Acidic foods tend to grow bacteria, mold and yeast more easily than non-acidic foods, so the sodium benzoate extends the shelf life, while it shortens human life.

Cancer is all about the cumulative effect. When the human body is exposed repeatedly to any level of this carcinogen, which rears its ugly head in thousands of products, the immune system, over time, is depleted to the point that one acquires an immune deficiency. Then the body does not have enough essential nutrients to detoxify, and this occurs at the cellular level. Parkinson's, neuro-degenerative diseases, and premature aging have all been attributed to this infamous preservative.

Frankincense - Ancient herbal remedy proven to be effective against arthritis

Tuesday, September 20, 2011 by: Michelle Bosmier

(NaturalNews) Cardiff University scientists have discovered that an age old, traditional cure may actually be efficient against painful arthritis. The edible, aromatic resin known as frankincense has been used in the traditional medicines of Asia for centuries, mainly to aid digestion, heal wounds, fortify the endocrine system, destroy germs and help control skin conditions.

Frankincense is obtained from trees in the genus Boswellia, and when it is fit for consumption, its color ranges from light yellow to light orange, without any brown or black impurities. It has a chewy, sticky texture and a spicy, slight coniferous aroma. The incense also works as a good mosquito repellant, and due to its pleasant smell, frankincense extract is often added to exotic cosmetics, perfumes and essential oils.

Dr. Emma Blain, who has led the Cardiff research team alongside Professor Vic Duance from Cardiff University's School of Biosciences, and Dr. Ahmed Ali of the Compton Group revealed: "The South West of England and Wales has a long standing connection with the Somali community who have used extracts of frankincense as a traditional herbal remedy for arthritic conditions." They later added, "What our research has focused on is whether and how these extracts can help relieve the inflammation that causes the pain".

However, Dr. Blain and her team are not the first to investigate the medicinal properties of frankincense. In 2008, a group of Indian and American researchers had established that frankincense helped to significantly improve the health condition of a group of patients suffering from osteoarthritis, in as little as 7 days. Moreover, in 2009, the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center conducted yet another study on frankincense, revealing that the resin may help inhibit the development of cancerous cells in patients with bladder cancer.

Boswellia frereana, the frankincense variety used by the Cardiff research team, is a rare species that can suppress the production of key inflammatory cells, helping to prevent the breakdown of cartilage tissue in patients with arthritis. "The search for new ways of relieving the symptoms of inflammatory arthritis and osteoarthritis is a long and difficult one," said Dr. Blain. She added that frankincense can now be investigated in controlled environments, and its effects can be measured and compared to other common anti-inflammatory drugs that are regularly prescribed to treat arthritis.

Historically, frankincense has been sold primarily as an aromatic resin, to be used in perfumery and aromatherapy, and it is known to have been traded on the Arabian Peninsula, as well as in North Africa for over 5000 years.

Mother Nature's thirst-quenching sports drink comes from twigs and leaves: Rooibos

Note from Miriam:
I have this tea in my house and it tastes great. I had gotten some last year when I found out that it's a natural bronchodilator, which means it can help with snoring from my sleep apnea bcs it expands the bronchial tubes for respiratory disorders. I've used it before bed on occasion but usually forget or it's inconvenient. However, I just found an excellent high quality organic liquid extract form of this on www.luckyvitamin.com. It's highly concentrated giving you more servings for almost half the money as the one sold on Natural News. It's equivalent to drinking 288 cups of the tea at $22, while the one below gives you 196 cups at $39. Here's the link: http://www.luckyvitamin.com/p-8301-african-red-tea-imports-rooibos-red-tea-extract-2-oz. It's also available in low cost capsule form from www.swanson.com.

(NaturalNews) Do you know anyone still drinking Gatorade or other popular sports drinks? If so, you may want to turn them on to Rooibos, an amazing thirst quencher (and a potent source of health protective flavonoids) made by Mother Nature.

Gatorade, Powerade and other sports drinks are made with liquid sugars (glucose and fructose), artificial coloring chemicals (like red #40), citric acid and emulsifiers such as brominated vegetable oil. Anyone who knows anything about nutrition quickly realizes these are not healthful, wholesome ingredients.

I've also released a popular video about Vitamin Water, exposing the truth that even Coca-Cola's own attorneys admit the drink isn't a "healthy" beverage:
www.FoodInvestigations.com

Rooibos, on the other hand, is made by Mother Nature. It's the powdered extract of the Aspalatus linearis plant which grows prolifically in South Africa. Remarkably, it's a completely caffeine-free plant that nevertheless tastes like an amazing tea beverage or even a sports drink, simply by adding it to water and mixing in your favorite sweetener such as stevia. Rooibos, by the way, synergizes extremely well with stevia. Even if you don't normally like stevia, when mixed with Rooibos the flavor of the combination suddenly makes stevia far more delicious, and I've had many people rave about this simple combination (rooibos + water + stevia).

Loaded with health-supportive phytonutrients

In addition to the fact that Rooibos contains no caffeine, it's loaded with phytonutrients such as Aspalathin, Quercetin and Luteolin. It also contains Orientin, Isoorientin, Vitexin, Isovitexin, Chrysoeriol, Catechin, Isoqurecetin, Hyperoside and Rutin. (You can look these up to see their supportive health benefits.)

No doubt some combination of these plant-based nutrients (none of which are found in Gatorade or Powerade, by the way) explains why Rooibos is such a powerful thirst quencher. I drank it almost every day throughout the Texas drought we've had over the past few months, and I discovered this drink keeps you hydrated in a way that plain water simply doesn't. No wonder so many professional football teams and sports enthusiasts are also discovering Rooibos to be a powerful, performance-enhancing sports drink.

Click here to see Rooibos on sale at the NaturalNews Store

Getting the good stuff

Watch out for Rooibos that's cut with fillers such as maltodextrin or lecithin. Ideally, you want to get pure Rooibos with no fillers, additives or sweeteners of any kind.

Another huge issue of concern is radiation -- much of the Rooibos brought into the United States is irradiated by the FDA. So getting a supply that isn't irradiated is very, very tricky -- it has even been challenging for our own supplier who recently had to reject a large batch because he tested it and found evidence that it had been irradiated. So he had to order the same batch over again, which fortunately arrived in a non-irradiated state. (Most companies don't even bother to check if their ingredient are irradiated, by the way. Only the most quality-conscious companies even pay attention to this.)

No caffeine, no chemicals

Rooibos powdered extract is made from the leaves and twigs of the Rooibos plant, which is grown entirely without pesticides or synthetic chemicals of any kind. It only takes a tiny amount of Rooibos powder mixed with water to make a deep red "tea-like" beverage that quenches thirst like nothing else. You can also mix it with any kind of milk (almond milk, cow's milk, rice milk, etc.), add a touch of sweetener, and you've got a delicious milk tea beverage that's super smooth.

This is a rare, exquisite herbal extract with a unique nutritional profile that just isn't found in any other herb or superfood. Because its potent flavonoids are so important to protect, it's packed in Miron Swiss Violet Glass which protects it from UV light. Absolutely no chemicals are used to create this extract: No solvents, nothing. In addition, nothing is added to this product. There are no fillers. It is 100% Rooibos powdered extract and nothing else, period.

Our supplier of this extraordinary tea is ImmunoLogic (www.Immunologic.net), and you can watch an introductory video about the owner, Clive Buirski, at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wth4...

Right now, we have a very limited supply of Rooibos Powdered Extract in our store, and we've discounted it to try to bring you the best price possible.

Juicer Pulp recipes

If you're JUICING you know it's time-consuming, expensive, and then there's all that pulp you hate to throw out bcs you know there's still a bunch of vitamins in there! I juiced today, which I don't do very often for all of the above reasons (I prefer green smoothies), but I had some carrots, cucumber, and celery that just needed to get used up fast. As I stared at all the leftover pulp I decided to look up good recipes to use the pulp in bcs I just couldn't bear to throw it out. I found the website below, which has great ideas.

Now you can have your juice and eat it too! lol

Here they are:

15 Juicer Pulp Recipes. Don't throw that pulp away. Reuse it! Here are 15 great recipes for reusing your juicer pulp from fruit and vegetable juicing.

Juicer Recipes Using Pulp

You care about your health, that's why you juice! But it is expensive, and there's all that extra pulp at the end.

Do you just throw it away? Why do that when you can use the pulp to make healthy and delicious recipes for you and your family.

There's also the fiber aspect. Juicing is excellent for your health, but throwing away the fiber is a big waste. There are still some nutrients present in it. Taking the whole foods approach means reusing the pulp too! Let's get started...

Juicer Pulp Recipes: Vegetable Soup Stock

1) If you make a batch of juice with just veggies and no fruits, save the pulp for your next batch of soup. There are several methods for doing this. The simplest is to take the pulp and put it in a container and freeze it. Next time you plan on making soup, thaw out the pulp by putting it in the fridge 24 hours before using it. Then add it to your soup base.

2) Getting a little more elaborate here. Save up pulp from a week's worth of juicing. Simply freeze it as you generate the pulp, and add the next day's pulp onto it. If you juice daily you'll have a good quantity by the end of the week. Then take it all out and place it in a stock pot. Bring it to a boil, stirring frequently (this will take a little while since it is frozen). Add a bay leaf and any other seasonings you like (such as rosemary, thyme, peppercorns, etc.) and simmer for 1 hour. You now have a wonderful soup stock that can be added to any soup dish you make.

3) An alternate method, the most elaborate, but also very tasty. Take all of your juicer pulp from a batch of juicing. Put the pulp in your blender or food proccessor and add a peeled tomato to it. Blend until it is smooth. Pour the blend into individual servings in an ice cube tray and freeze. Now whenever you want to make soup you have a pre-sized cube of vegetable stock to add in. This method, because of the blending, makes for a very smooth soup base with no lumps.

4)Lentil Soup Juicer Pulp Recipe : Since I'm a lazy cook, I typically use method #1. This lentil soup is vegan, high fiber, low calorie, very inexpensive and of course, delicious.

Ingredients: You can play with the quantity, but I use:

4 cups of pulp
1 bag of dried lentils
2 potatoes
1/2 a large yellow onion
6 cloves of garlic
1 zuchinni or yellow squash
Italian seasoning
Directions:
Thaw your juicer pulp batch out for 24 hours in the fridge before use.
Chop the onion and garlic and set aside.
Cube the potatoes and zuchinni and set aside.
Add some olive oil to a large stock pot and put the temperature to medium high.
Once heated add the garlic and onions and saute for 5 minutes.
Add the potatoes and zuchinni and saute for 2 minutes.
Add all 4 cups of pulp and the italian seasoning and stir for 3 minutes.
Add the bag of lentils and water and bring to a boil. Once boiling, stir vigorously then bring it down to a simmer.
Cook for 45 minutes on low to medium temperature. Voila! Juicer pulp lentil soup. The pulp provides a nice vegetable stock flavor and texture to the soup which changes based on what vegetables are in your pulp.

Juicer Pulp Recipes: Popsicles

5) If you make a batch of juice with just fruits and no vegetables, make some pulp popsicles. It's a great way to give your kids (or yourself) a healthy snack that tastes delicious. Simply put the pulp into popsicle molds and freeze. When you're ready for a treat, pull one out and enjoy!

6) An elaboration on the popsicle recipe is to take a little bit of the fresh juice you've just made and blend it in with the pulp. Then add to the popsicle mold and freeze. This makes for a slightly more flavorful popsicle with a lighter texture.

Juicer Pulp Recipes: Muffins

7) Juicer Pulp Muffins are a classic recipe and oh so delish! You can use any type of pulp for this recipe. You'd be amazed at how good carrot, beet, ginger pulp muffins can be! Here's a quick recipe, but get creative and play with the quantities.

5 cups juicing pulp
3 cups flour
1 cup oil
1 cup honey
6 egg whites (or egg replacer equivalent for vegans)
1 tbsp vanilla
1 tbsp baking soda
2 tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Add pulp, egg whites (or egg replacer), honey, vanilla and oil to a mixing bowl stir.
Sift the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg together and add it gradually to the mix, stirring until blended.
Pour the mix into a muffin pan making sure to leave some room (about 1/4 from the top) for expansion.
Bake for 45 minutes. Makes a dozen muffins.

Juicer Pulp Recipes: Casseroles

8) Juicer pulp slips into just about any casserole recipe with ease! Simply switch out a quantity of vegetables in the recipe for the same quanity of vegetable pulp (Make sure to thaw it for 24 hours ahead of time). So if a recipe calls for 3 cups of vegetables. Switch out 1 cup of the vegetables for 1 cup of pulp, or all 3 cups of vegetables for 3 cups of pulp. Play around till you find the amount that you prefer.

9) Veggie Lasagna Juicer Pulp Recipe: You can use the pulp in any type of casserole dish. Here is a recipe for a veggie lasagna.

Ingredients
1 Package of Lasagna Noodles
1 Jar Tomato Sauce, Pasta Sauce or Alfredo Sauce
2 Cups of Thawed Vegetable Pulp
Cheese (1 container Ricotta, or 1 package of grated cheese)
Italian Seasoning
Directions.
Take 2 cups of thawed vegetable pulp and stir with 1 cup of pasta sauce and italian seasoning.
In a large casserole dish, lay out one thin layer of sauce, then one layer of cooked lasagna noodles, then one layer of vegetable pulp mix, then a layer of cheese (or vegan cheese).
Rinse and repeat till you've reached the top! Add one last layer of sauce to the top along with some grated cheese.
Then bake at 350 degrees covered for 25 minutes and 350 degrees uncovered for another 25 minutes. Yum!

10) Twice Baked Potatoes Juicer Pulp Recipe:

Ingredients:
4 potatoes
3 cups of juicer pulp
1 red pepper
1/2 an onion
2 cloves of garlic
Marjoram, thyme, and black pepper.
Directions.
Bake 4 large russet potatoes for 1 hour at 400 degrees (or until cooked through).
While the potatoes are baking, dice and saute the pepper, onion and garlic in olive oil on medium high heat for 5 minutes.
Add the juicer pulp to the saute pan and saute everything for another 5 minutes.
Remove sauteed veggies from heat and set aside in a mixing bowl.
Once the potatoes are done, remove from oven and allow to cool.
Once cool, scoop out the potato innards with a spoon and put in the mixing bowl with the vegetable mix.
Mash together with a potato masher.
Scoop the mixture back into the potatoes and bake for 15 minutes at 350.
As an alternative, you can add milk (or soymilk), cheese (or soy cheese), or butter (or veganaise) to the mix as well. This makes for a creamier end product (but with more calories!)

Juicer Pulp Recipes: A Few More Ideas

Once you get started with your own juicer pulp recipes you'll see how easy it is to slip the pulp into your daily cooking. But maybe you're overloaded with pulp and need a few more creative ways to use it, or you don't cook that often. Here are a few more great ideas for what to do with all that pulp!

11) Doggy Dinner: Add your daily pulp to pup's food. Mix it in with either dry or wet food. They will enjoy the benefits of increased fiber and nutrient density and will enjoy the change up in flavors.

12) Dips and Sauces: That pulpy goodness imparts a wonderful flavor to dips and sauces. I make my own pasta sauce from scratch, and it's so easy to add in a couple cups of juicing pulp to the sauce just after sauteeing all of the veggies and before adding the tomatoes. You can also blend the pulp and add a little to your hummus the next time you make a batch, or try a little in a veganaise dill dip. Ooooh. It's really tasty.

13) I'm not much of a sweets baker so I haven't included a lot of baking recipes on this page, but juicing pulp is a natural for anything baked. Add a little to your banana bread recipe, your next cake, etc. You can also use fruit pulp as a divine spread. Just blend it smooth, add in something creamy (milk, soymilk, butter, etc.), a touch of something sweet (sugar, stevia, etc.) and use it as an icing on a cake or as a spread on your muffins.

14) I've also used the pulp in mexican dishes, bean soups, pasta salads, and in sandwich spreads. Get creative! Throw a dash into your next meal and see what happens.

15) Worm Food: Last but not least, there's always the trusty compost pile. If you do compost (it's easy and fun, I swear!) and you don't do a lot of cooking, add that gorgeous pulp to your compost pile! You'll get incredible, rich loam in return. We used to go so far as to drag the juice pulp home from the juice bar at the health food store where we worked (giant big black garbage bags full) and compost it. Organic compost for the garden! It's a natural and a much better option than sending it off to a landfill.

Cancer breakthrough: scientists discover harmless bacteria in soil kills cancer tumors

Monday, September 05, 2011 by: S. L. Baker, features writer

(NaturalNews) Cancer remains one of the most feared diseases on the planet -- and cancer patients being treated by mainstream medicine are usually bombarded with radiation and subjected to toxic chemotherapy that destroys healthy cells and weakens the body while trying to kill tumors.

Thankfully, as NaturalNews readers are aware, a growing body of research is revealing that many natural substances have cancer prevention and treatment potential, including Mediterranean type foods that fight prostate cancer (http://www.naturalnews.com/025659.html) and walnuts which contain breast cancer preventive phytochemicals.

Now there's evidence a cure for cancer may be all around us and is as common as dirt. In fact, it's something in dirt.

Researcher Aleksandra Kubiak just presented the startling discovery at the Society for General Microbiology's Autumn Conference currently underway at the University of York in the UK. She and other members of a research team from the University of Nottingham and the University of Maastricht have found that a strain of harmless bacteria that is widespread in soil is actually deadly -- not to people but to cancerous tumors.

The researchers have developed a therapy using Clostridium sporogenes, a bacterium common in dirt. They found that when spores of the bacteria are injected into cancer patients, they only grow in solid tumors. Inside the cancerous growth, the bacteria produce a specific enzyme that activates a cancer drug. The results? Unlike current chemotherapy, the natural bacteria treatment causes only the cancer cells to be destroyed while healthy cells are left unharmed.

"Clostridia are an ancient group of bacteria that evolved on the planet before it had an oxygen-rich atmosphere and so they thrive in low oxygen conditions. When Clostridia spores are injected into a cancer patient, they will only grow in oxygen-depleted environments, i.e. the center of solid tumors. This is a totally natural phenomenon, which requires no fundamental alterations and is exquisitely specific," head researcher Professor Nigel Minton said in a statement to the media. "We can exploit this specificity to kill tumor cells but leave healthy tissue unscathed."

He added that the new discovery could lead to a simple and safe procedure for curing a wide range of solid tumors. "This therapy will kill all types of tumor cell. The treatment is superior to a surgical procedure, especially for patients at high risk or with difficult tumor locations," Professor Minton said.

"We anticipate that the strain we have developed will be used in a clinical trial in 2013 led by Jan Theys and Philippe Lambin at the University of Maastricht in The Netherlands. A successful outcome could lead to its adoption as a frontline therapy for treating solid tumors."

How to protect yourself from clinical depression

Note: To read more information on depression, please read The Real Safety Guide to Disease
Prevention, available exclusively through Truth Publishing (www.TruthPublishing.com).

• Eat a diet high in B vitamins (thiamin, magnesium, riboflavin, and niacin). B vitamins
are essential to a healthy, depression-free brain. Your body needs vitamin B6, for example,
to produce serotonin, an important neurotransmitter in the prevention and treatment of
depression. Solutions: Eat foods high in B vitamins [crimini mushrooms, tuna, salmon, chicken,
asparagus, avocados, broccoli, eggs, sunflower seeds, whole grains (especially wheat germ), pork,
dried beans and peas, soy and soy products, cashews, almonds, brown rice, millet, avocados, bananas
and dried apricots] or take B-vitamin supplements.
• Eat more dark-green vegetables: Vegetables like peas and spinach are high in folic acid,
which is essential for serotonin production. Solutions: Eat foods high in folic acid or take it in
supplement form.
• Make sure you get enough natural sunlight: Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type
of depression associated with winter-related lack of sunlight, but spending too much time
indoors, whether at work or at home, can result in vitamin-D deficiency and consequently
depression, no matter the time of year. Solutions: Try to spend at least one hour a day total outdoors
without sunscreen, even if it means just going on several brief walks while you're at work. If you live
in a climate where it's difficult to obtain natural sunlight, consider light therapy [see below].
• Light therapy: If you live in a cloudy climate, or just spend too much time indoors, you're
probably deficient in vitamin D, which is a major risk factor for depression. Solutions: Buy
light therapy bulbs and install them in your home; encourage your employer to do the same.38 Natural Appetite Suppressants for Safe, Effective Weight Loss
• Eat more molasses: This "waste product" from the sugar refinement process is actually
more nutritionally valuable than the goal product, white sugar. Along with many other
nutrients, molasses is high in uridine, which helps fight depression.
• Eat foods rich in tryptophan: The brain converts this important amino acid to serotonin.
Solution: Eat more foods high in tryptophan (tuna, soybeans, turkey, almonds, cabbage, kidney or
lima beans, oats, pistachios, poppy seeds, pumpkin seeds, spinach, and wheat).
• Exercise: Lack of exercise will make you more prone to depression. Solution: Adopt a basic
exercise program.
• Eat more vitamin-E-rich foods: Studies show that people who have severe depression
are usually deficient in vitamin E, suggesting a link between vitamin-E-deficiency and
depression. Solutions: Food sources of vitamin E include almonds, peanuts, turnip greens,
mayonnaise, dandelion greens, mango, and broccoli. You can also choose to take vitamin E
supplements.
• Increase the amount of phenylalanine in your diet: This amino acid crosses the bloodbrain barrier and stimulates the production of the natural mood-boosting neurotransmitters
dopamine, adrenaline, and noradrenaline. Solution: Eat more phenylalanine-rich foods
(almonds, avocados, lima beans, peanuts, and seeds).
• Eat "happy foods": When an animal is slaughtered, it feels fear and anxiety, causing it to
secrete adrenalin and other hormones that imprint these negative emotions on the meat
that consumers will eventually ingest. Similarly, the water in fruits and vegetables grown in
greedy, profit-driven environments transfer this negativity to the consumers who eat them.
Solutions: Eat only organic fruits and vegetables and either little or no animal products, or only
organic, free-range animal products.
• Read Depression-Free for Life by Gabriel Cousens, M.D.: Dr. Cousens shows you how
to beat depression the natural way in his five-step program of mood-boosting natural
substances, vitamin and mineral supplements, and a mind-enhancing diet and lifestyle.
• Use zizyphus seeds (available in many tonics) to fight anxiety: Depression and anxiety
often go hand-in-hand. Zizyphus seeds have a calming effect on the emotions and
nervous system.Fighting food cravings 39
• Create a support system: Isolation leads to depression. Solution: Make a conscious effort to
socialize and, if needed, talk to a therapist or counselor.
• Learn yoga: Studies show that yoga lowers levels of cortisol, the stress hormone. Solution:
Begin attending yoga classes or learn yoga through instructional videos and DVDs.
• Have fun: Always make time for recreation and relaxation. Solution: Remember the activities
that make you feel good or calm you down and always make time for them.
• Help others: Helping others will make you feel good about yourself. Solution: Do volunteer
work, if you have time, or even just help others in small ways.
• Keep busy: Helps you to avoid dwelling on negative thoughts. Solution: Exercise or pick a
craft or hobby.
• Learn coping skills: Learn to handle emotions like anger, sadness, guilt and anxiety.
Solution: Learn coping skills through self-help books and DVDs.
• Practice "self talk": Use it when you feel negative emotions or think negative thoughts.
Solution: Learn to "self talk" through" self-help books and DVDs.
• Set realistic goals: Goal-orientated people are happy people, but make sure the goals are
realistic. Unrealistic goals lead to disappointment and depression. Solution: Learn goal setting
through self-help books and DVDs.
You can naturally break free from depression and emotional eating. Begin these natural solutions
to clinical depression today and let it be the first day of the rest of your life.
